About Us

The Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) is the oldest and largest fraternal organization of Italian American men and women in North America.  It was established on June 22, 1905 at 203 Grand Street in what is today New York City's Little Italy. It was founded by Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro and five other men who shared the vision that all Italian immigrants would benefit by uniting under a single organization. These men were Ludovico Ferrari, Antonio Marzullo, Giuseppe Carlino, Pietro Viscardi and Robert Merlo.  The organization was created with the aim to assist Italian immigrants seeking to assimilate and to become educated.
